Shibori is a Japanese resist-dyeing technique that involves wrapping, folding, pleating and twisting cloth. It is then bound or clamped and dyed in an indigo dye bath.
Techniques you will learn:
In this beginner’s class, you will learn the basics of indigo vat dyeing and traditional shibori techniques, to create beautiful patterns on cloth.
You can choose a technique to dye fabric for a cushion cover or scarf.
Each design will be unique and unexpected.

Enough fabric for a scarf or a cushion cover (extra cotton for sale at $5 per mt)
What to bring with you:
Wear non-precious clothes or apron.
Gloves, string or twine, pegs, bulldog clips, elastic bands
Students may bring small items of natural fibres e.g. silk or cotton to dye
